About

The Story of Inner Light Psychotherapy

Hey there, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Rachel Zidaru, a therapist based in Houston, Texas. I help millennials (talking to you 20, 30, and 40-somethings!) who walk around carrying the weight of anxiety, family drama, relationship issues, low self-esteem, and past trauma, and just feel overall stuck in life.

I’ve been there, and I’ve spent many years on the other side of the couch. I understand firsthand that confronting your pain head-on is no easy task.

It can be scary and vulnerable, but also an incredibly courageous and brave endeavor. And in case no one’s told you yet, I’m proud of you for starting.

My style is warm, holistic, and inquisitive. I’ll equally validate you and challenge you. We’ll process through what’s happened and figure out what’s keeping you stuck with a lot of compassion, while providing tangible tools to get you unstuck in a pace that feels safe and comfortable.

My main framework comes from my advanced training in an evidence-based approach called Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps you understand your own inner world and access your innate ability to transform and heal. Additionally, I pull from attachment-based therapy and polyvagal tools to regulate your nervous system for a holistic approach.

My deepest hope is for you to be filled with an abundant sense of enoughness and worthiness of love. I am committed to creating a safe, nonjudgemental and accepting space for my clients to lay it all out there, to be messy, and to grow and heal, and to ultimately thrive. By guiding my clients towards healthy forms of connection starting in therapy, my clients restore their views of themselves, (and dare I say even love themselves!), enabling them to lead authentic and fulfilling lives aligned with their values, and find the peace and wholeness they so crave.
